This component allows us to centrally manage any links to other websites. There are some sites we link to often – gov.uk sites or Citizens Advice Bureau pages, for example. With this component, we only need to create it (or, if the external URL changes, edit it) in one place.

Use Add entry and select Component – External link

Name – enter the name of the website and specific page

Destination URL – enter the full URL

Open in new window – select ‘Yes’ for the link to open in a new window, or ‘No’ if you want users to be taken straight to the external site

Publish the component. It's now ready to be added to other content.
